Watch Scotland fan bizarrely brave German waters as he strips naked and leaps into the Rhine

WATCH the moment a Scotland fan bizarrely strips off and leaps naked into Germany’s most famous river.

The fan’s stunt saw his pals watch on in stitches as the Tartan Army member braved the icy German waters of the River Rhine in Cologne, Germany yesterday in only his birthday suit.

Stripping down to only his socks, the skinny-dipping Scotsman thankfully survived the ordeal with no damage done to anything but his dignity.

Video footage shows a group of fellow Scotland fans sitting watching on as the bloke strips off the last of his clothes and sprints towards the river in only his socks and watch.

The lad stripped down to just his socks before leaping into the river.
The lad stripped down to just his socks before leaping into the river.

With one hand covering his modesty the lad then powerfully vaults over a fence and, gaining some airtime, flies into the river with limbs flailing.

He disappears under the water for a moment before resurfacing in the strong current and immediately swimming hard to reach an exit.

Looking for a way out of the river the lad paddles towards a flight of stairs to escape the cold water.

Now drenched and likely feeling the cold, the Scot hauls himself up over another railing and onto the flight of stairs, still covering his crown jewels.

His friends continue howling with laughter as he begins climbing the stairs, whilst German accents can be heard in the background, seemingly baffled by the stunt.

The clip was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Scotland. Euros. Cologne. Chaos.”

The video has proven popular with Scottish fans and has received over 6,600 likes and more than 170 comments.

One user said: “Let me guess, the guy lost a bet?”

Another added: “Nah, not smart. That river looks fast, and stripping down in public when there could be wee kids and families about isn’t okay.”

A third wrote: “Some serious currents in the Rhine there too.”

Another replied: “Lighten up everybody, I bet he does that every Saturday, jumping into the River Clyde back home.”

A fifth commented: “I love me some Scots, but please be careful in our city. The Rhine has a very strong current and there is ship movement nearly all day.

“Don’t want one of you guys going missing.”
