TAYLOR SWIFT has continued to wow her Scottish fans despite heading down south to continue her Eras tour – by making a generous donation to local foodbanks.
The pop icon, 34, was thanked by the Edinburgh Food Project who shared the news yesterday afternoon that Swift had pledged to help foodbanks in the Scottish capital.
Swifties quickly took to social media yesterday to praise the Love Story singer for her generosity.
Swift finished her run of record-breaking concerts at Murrayfield in Edinburgh over the weekend having performed for over 220,000 people and thrice broke the national attendance record.
Shortly after the star had left the city alongside her entourage and touring crew, the Edinburgh Food Project made their announcement.
The charity took to social media to share the news that will see disadvantaged Scots directly helped by Taylor Swift.
The post read: “As fans gathered at Murrayfield Stadium on Friday for the first of three record-breaking gigs, we found out that Taylor Swift would be making a donation to support foodbanks across the city. Thank you so much Taylor.”
Their post received over 3,600 likes with dozens of comments from Scottish Swifties who were delighted at their idol’s decision to showcase her philanthropy.
One said: “One day she’s going to set up The Taylor Swift Foundation and raise money for good causes everywhere she goes.”
Another commented: “She’s just great.”
A third replied: “Good for her.”
Edinburgh’s Murrayfield saw the United Kingdom welcome the Eras Tour for the first time with fans left entertained by a three-and-a-half-hour masterclass from Swift.
She charmed the crowd by admitting that it was a mistake not to have toured more in the country but confirmed she would rectify that on any future tours.
The pop star is known for her kindness and often will donate to charitable causes in any city that she tours in.
