Ad-boar-able – Motorist watches in amazement as family of boars inadvertently create cute roadblock

THIS is the sweet moment that a family of wild boars surprise a motorist who was travelling through the English countryside.

The driver was heading through the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire yesterday when they spotted the family of wild boar.

Both parties were at an impasse as the driver stopped their car whilst the boars appeared to be unfazed by their new mechanical companion on the road.

Video shows the moment that the passenger in the car films the boars who initially are stood on the opposite side of the road.

The motorist stopped to watch the family of boar cross the road.

Almost as soon as the van comes to a stop, two of the little humbugs begin to wander across the road.

Their mother can be seen quickening her stride to get ahead of her offspring as she beats them across the road and shepherds them between herself and her partner.

The passel of boar then stop in the road for a moment as they stare down the car – curious at its presence.

The boars then move off again as the video ends, but the motorist assures viewers that they made it safely back into the forest.

There are only an estimated 2,600 wild boars in the UK, with small breeding populations in Dorset, Devon and Gloucestershire making up most of this number.

The motorist took to social media to share their video of the rare sighting yesterday with the caption: “Forest of Dean roadblock.”

It received over 4,200 likes and more than 90 comments from social media users delighted to see the family of boar.

One user said: “Marvelous – I can imagine ‘Okay children, here comes one now. Remember, we take fruit, cakes or bread but not those pork scratchings’.”

Another added: “Oh right on a corner – hope they got into the woodland and safety before you moved on?”

A third wrote: “That’s a huge litter. Or is it two? What an incredible sight. I’ve never ever seen them in the Forest.”

Another replied: “I didn’t know there were hogs in the UK.”
