NEW research suggests 41% of traveling football fans admit to feeling anxious about where they will watch Euros games whilst abroad.
Research commissioned by easyJet Holidays suggests 20.6m travellers from England and Scotland will be abroad during the upcoming European football tournament.
With the tournament set to kick off on June 14, 77% of football fans have indicated that they plan on watching the game while travelling.
Out of those polled, 52% faced previous frustration of obstructed views and having to stand in bars across Europe.
Half of football fans confess to researching local bars with big screens near the hotel and a third check reviews for reliability of their satellite TV.
34% admit to having bagged bar tables over 3 hours before kick-off with 43% pre-ordering drinks or generously tipping bar owners to guarantee a table.
In response to their findings, easyJet holidays have said that they are launching the Goal Getters’ VIP package.
The package aims to give supporters access to screening areas in hotels with reserved seating and table service.
Matt Callaghan, COO at easyJet Holidays, said: “This year’s Euros summer is going to be a celebration across not only the country but Europe as well.
“At easyJet Holidays we want to make sure all football fans are able to cheer on their teams to victory, whilst enjoying their brilliant holiday at unbeatable value.
“Our research found the majority of Brits (78%) prefer to watch the match in a local bar, but more than half are often unable to see the screen.
“Our new Goal Getters package will ensure holidaymakers have VIP access to watch key matches and cheer their nation on to victory”.
