THIS is the moment a group of brave Londoners took on and detained a knife-wielding man who allegedly tried to stab them.
The incident unfolded on a street corner in the capital yesterday after an unidentified chap allegedly pulled a knife out on members of the public.
However, a group of bystanders took him on and managed to wrestle him to the floor, yanking the knives away from him and holding him down until the police arrived.
One of the brave blokes who took on his assailant filmed the aftermath, with video footage showing the attacker pinned to the ground by several men.
The man recording can be heard shouting in the attacker’s face: “You tried stabbing me yeah? Try stabbing me now, you little mug.”
The attacker can be heard mumbling, “No, no” as a knee is pressed down on his face.
The man recording then appears to hit his attacker, prompting two other members of the public to say: “Don’t hit him anymore mate, it’s not worth hitting him.”
However, the cameraman seems riled up, and retorts: “What do you mean, he just tried to stab us.”
Standing up and releasing the attacker, the cameraman then heads over to a doorway where a bag can be seen on the floor.
Inspecting the contents of the bag – which allegedly belongs to the attacker – the man discovers two knives and a copy of the Quran.
Kicking one of the red-bladed knives aside, the man shouts: “You want to try stabbing us, yeah? F***ing mug.”
The incapacitated bloke on the ground – wearing a Gucci t-shirt – is then questioned about the knives by the Londoners and claims that he simply “found them”.
With the group in agreement that the man was trying to do them harm, one of the men restraining him snaps: “You can’t walk around stabbing people you f***ing idiot.”
The video comes to an end as the attacker continues his mumbling and a crowd begins to gather around the area.
The video footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “A man carrying multiple knives and a Quran is detained by the public as he tried stabbing random people in London today.”
The post has since received 2,200 likes and more than 50 comments from users on social media applauding the brave Londoners’ actions in stopping the attacker.
One user said: “Wow I admire those people’s restraint and calm, would be very easy in this situation to beat the dude up considering they could have been stabbed and their adrenaline levels are way up.”
Another added: “Truly, wouldn’t turning him, at least, into a vegetable be the best course of action? It wouldn’t even take that much effort.”
A third wrote: “Most British video ever, bunch of the lads incapacitate a knife wielding attacker while mocking him.”
Another replied: “Average British person.”
