Awkward moment Liverpool fans turn up to service station packed with Everton supporters – who duly serenade them with league-loss chant

THIS is the unfortunate moment that two Liverpool fans head into a service station filled with their rivals – before enduring a painful reminder of how they lost the league.

The two supporters had attended Jurgen Klopp’s farewell match last Sunday where the Anfield side won by two goals to nil against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Everton had been involved in one of the weekend’s two biggest matches as they played Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in London.

Hundreds of Toffees supporters turned up at the services where the two Liverpool fans were forced to stand and listen to their rivals sing about costing Liverpool the league.

Video shows the pair of Liverpool fans standing in the terminal at Norton Canes services on the M6 outside of a Spar shop.

The two supporters, one dressed in the traditional red home top and the other wearing a customised shirt sporting the words ‘YNWA’ standing for You’ll Never Walk Alone stand in a sea of blue.

Everton supporters immediately burst into song, surrounding the pair, chanting: “You lost the league at Goodison Park, you lost the league at Goodison Park.”

Whilst the fan in the home top takes the banter, smiling and posing for a picture, his friend appears unwilling to get involved in the post-season festivities.

The man in the black top looks down at his phone seemingly wishing to be anywhere other than the service station enduring the dulcet tones of his rivals.

A video was shared to social media by e-sports megastar and Everton supporter Harry Hesketh who filmed the jovial chanting, saying: “Not the best time to pull into the services.”

His post received over 2,800 likes with dozens of comments from social media users who were quick to offer their thoughts.

One said: “Fair play, took that well, top man.”

Another added: “I’d love to know what the Everton fans are celebrating, they make it to Europe or win something this year?”

A third replied: “Poor fella.”

Everton overcame two seperate points deductions this season to keep their Premier League place whilst Liverpool came third as they bid adieu to Jurgen Klopp.
