A DOPEY Scots motorist was hilariously forced to reverse the entire way back through roadworks after supposedly driving through a red light.
The bold driver was caught on camera by a passenger in a nearby car in Leven, Fife yesterday at a batch of roadworks.
Stopped in their tracks by traffic coming in the opposite direction, the driver was forced to sheepishly crawl back to where they started, tail between their legs.
The video footage shows the passenger behind the camera waiting patiently at a red light, which has been put in place to control traffic amid the ongoing roadworks.
On the other side of the road, the offending black car can be seen, having apparently tried to cut their journey time in front of other motorists.
However, their plan hasn’t worked, and they have instead been met head-on by a throng of cars who had been given the green light on the other side of the road.
The dopey driver is forced to stop in their tracks and begin reversing back the way they came.
They slowly make the journey back to where they started, all whilst the motorists that they are blocking advance forward without hesitation.
Thankfully, the driver manages to reverse gracefully along the distance they had travelled and avoids any collision.
Eventually making it to the other side of the roadworks and making space for cars to pass, the sheepish motorist comes to a halt.
The footage was shared to social media yesterday and was captioned: “Leven driver of the day.”
The video footage of the dopey driver has since received over 770 likes and more than 70 comments.
One user said: “He is driving better in reverse than some of the numpties do going forward.”
Another added: “Lights probably on green at both sets, happened to me the other night.”
A third wrote: “Probably went through the red light and oncoming traffic started to go. Serves him right.”
Another replied: “[About] Time the bloody lights were gone anyway.”
