Dopey Deliveroo rider spotted cycling along hard shoulder of busy motorway – right past road sign warning drivers of his presence

A DOPEY Deliveroo rider was spotted cycling their bike along the hard shoulder of a busy motorway – right past a sign warning motorists of his presence.

The cyclist was spotted on the M25 near St Albans, North London yesterday seemingly mid-delivery with a Deliveroo bag strapped to his back.

Baffling road users as he passed by, the irony of the biker’s presence came full circle as he blissfully rode under an electronic notice board warning drivers of a “report of cyclist”.

Video filmed by the passenger of a nearby car shows traffic building up around the area of the M25 that the cyclist was spotted, with vehicles slowing while passing the delivery rider.

An electric sign was put up to warn motorists of the cyclist.
An electric sign was put up to warn motorists of the cyclist.

Carrying a blue Deliveroo bag and wearing a grey tracksuit the cyclist nonchalantly coasts down the motorway’s hard shoulder.

The cyclist appears not to be pedalling his bike, leading many to believe he was riding a battery powered e-bike.

Seemingly out delivering food to customers the cyclist disregards their own and others’ safety as they set out to deliver their order at all costs.

Hilariously the video shows the cyclist passing under the large electronic sign warning drivers of their presence.

The oblivious delivery rider appears to be unaware of the sign, appearing to even look up at it while they complete their delivery.

The video footage of the bizarre incident was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “B*****d idiot ?Deliveroo? cyclist on the M25, wouldn’t see Uber doing that.”

The video received over 150 likes and more than 30 comments from social media users who were left stunned by the cyclist’s boldness.

One user joked: “Missed his exit, he was heading for Luton up the M1.”

Another added: “Looks like an electric moped/motorbike, no pedalling.

“Probably confiscated if they caught up with him, done for driving offences (no insurance MOT etc.) is the usual with these. That’s not a great deal to save a few minutes.”

A third quipped: “Hey, leave it out, that’s my tea on its way, I’m starving here.”

Another added: “I get how that might be the most useful thing to put on the sign but that doesn’t look like a cyclist to me.

“Bike that doesn’t need to be pedalled = electric motorcycle.”
