Scots amateur side left bemused as Serie A champions look set to use their badge in EA FC

A SCOTS football team has jokingly threatened to send in the lawyers after the rumoured badge for a world-famous team in EA FC 25 bears a striking resemblance to their own.

Inter Inchinnan AFC participate in Scotland’s Sunday Central AFL sporting the black and blue colours made famous by Italian outfit Inter Milan.

The Milan side strolled to the Serie A title, winning the Scudetto after defeating fierce rivals AC Milan last month.

Still from EA FC 25 showing the proposed Inter badge
Inter Inchinnan were quick to offer their views after spotting their badge on the game.

Now though, Inter Inchinnan from Inchinnan, Renfrewshire have taken to social media yesterday to warn EA Sports to “get yourself a good lawyer” after spotting their proposed badge for the Italian champions.

The Scots team have been left bemused after a screengrab from the upcoming EAFC 25 game revealed that Inter Milan will not be licensed as part of Serie A.

The club have instead signed an agreement with rival designers Konami who produce Pro Evolution Soccer to be exclusive in the Japanese manufacturer’s game.

As a workaround, EA Sports can still create an alternative team name and badge for the club to play in Serie A, one of the licensed leagues in the game.

Apparent screengrabs from the upcoming game show the badge for Milano Calcio being a black and blue design with one gold star sat atop the two half black bars.

A black trim sits on the outside of the crest along with a second golden trim which envelopes the rest of the design.

However, Inter Inchinnan’s badge is almost identical except for a line of text on the black trim which reads “Inter Inchinnan AFC 2020”.

Now, the Scottish side seem braced to bring in their beaks over whether a potential copyright breach has occurred.

The team quoted the image of the proposed Milano Calcio badge yesterday writing: “Get yourself a good lawyer buddy.”

The post received over 6,100 likes with social media users quick to comment on the outrageous coincidence between the club crests.

One said: “Word for word, bar for bar.”

Another added: “At least give them two stars.”

A third commented: “They’ve copied your whole flow.”

Incredibly, this is not the first team that a Scottish amateur football team have become embroiled in a hotly contested badge issue.

Last year, Haddington AFC claimed Elon Musk had stolen their emblem for his SpaceX logo and joked he should invest in the club.

Inter Milan also have history with Scottish football clubs as Jock Stein’s Celtic became the first British club to win the European Cup in 1967, defeating the Italian side 2-1.
