The whisky-loving Scotsman was recently spotted celebrating early in Edinburgh over the
weekend as he ran the My Peak Challenge, which included a gala night with dinner and
dancing at Murrayfield stadium.

However, Heughan’s fans across the globe are committed to celebrating the actor’s big
day, with one superfan even deeming today “International Sam Heughan Day”.

The superfan, known simply as Annmarie, shared her well-wishes for the star, writing in a
post yesterday: “Tomorrow is International Sam Heughan Day”.

The post received hundreds of likes and dozens of comments from other Outlander lovers
who gushed over the heartthrob.

One person wrote: “Happy birthday to Sam Heughan, a man of worth who’s 44 today. An
age of accomplishment in his career and endeavours.

“Ride the wave, baby boy, and continue to bring sunshine in our lives.”

Another said: “From Edinburgh to Paris, passing by Glasgow and Ostend, this man made
me travel Europe to live the most beautiful journey in the space of five months.

“I wish you an amazing happy birthday, Sam Heughan. Thanks for being the incredible man
that you are. We’re grateful to have you.”

A third commented: “Happy birthday to the one and only Sam Heughan (and happy 10th
anniversary to this picnic in the rain).”

A fourth added: “I think every day is International Sam Heughan Day. As it should be.”

Heughan is currently in the middle of completing his My Peak Challenge – a hiking
challenge which encourages members of the public to hike outdoors between 8 April and
30 April.

The challenge ends today and was set up by the World Wildlife organisation in celebration
of Earth Day.

They wrote on their website: “Nature provides the air we breathe, the water we drink, and
countless other resources.

“But the future of nature is uncertain; we’re losing forests, wildlife, freshwater, and more at
an unprecedented rate.

“The Earth Day theme this year, Planet vs. Plastics, emphasises the importance of keeping
plastics out of nature, for planetary and human health.

“Every day, plastic is flowing into our natural environment – harming wildlife, ecosystems,
and the livelihoods of many people.

“As the plastics crisis spreads, we must take action. Every hour dedicated to the planet
brings hope for generations to come.”
