Man left horrified after biting into white Creme Egg and finding ants in the middle

A MAN was left horrified after biting into a Cadbury’s Creme Egg and watching a colony of ants crawl out.

David Cann had popped into his local SPAR store in Bristol, South West England for the fondant filled treat but couldn’t believe his eyes after biting into the snack.

The 27-year-old took to social media to share his unfortunate experience and tagged both retailers SPAR and Creme Egg manufacturer Cadbury.

David couldn’t believe his eyes when he looked at the Creme Egg.

An image shared online by David yesterday shows the half-eaten confectionary held between his thumb and index finger.

The white chocolate has been split following his opening bite into the snack which reveals a colony of ants inside.

The insects have devoured the fondant inside the egg with some remnants on the left-hand side of the egg left.

More than fifteen ants can be seen around the top and inside of the egg happily feasting away on the sweet snack.

David snapped the picture before sharing it on social media yesterday (MON) evening, writing: “Just had a proper horror movie moment when I bit into a White Creme Egg to find a mass of ants inside.

“[It] looked fine from the outside, foil was sealed, safe to say I won’t be forgetting that in a while.”

His post received over 2,200 likes with hundreds of comments from sickened social media users.

One said: “They [Creme Eggs] usually go in my mouth whole, so the thoguht that this could have happened to me, and I just didn’t know, is wretched.”

Another added: “I found a long red hair in a Creme Egg one year and haven’t had one since.”

A third replied: “Well that’s me probably never eating a Creme Egg again.”

Another commented: “That is so grim, what a nightmare, I don’t think I’ll be eating a choc egg again.”

A fifth responded: “Just hoping I forget this before next Creme Egg season.”

Creme Eggs were created in 1963 by chocolate company Fry’s before they merged with Cadbury.
