Aberdeen youngsters set to show off their skills in charity talent show

ABERDEEN’S kids are ready to show their skills in a talent show this weekend dedicated to the many young lives supported by a Scottish charity.

Involving dancing, singing and magic, the Granite City’s youngsters are excited to perform at The Archie Foundation Variety Show in Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre on Saturday night.

This will provide many kids who have received support from The Archie Foundation or NHS Grampian with the opportunity to showcase their talents.

Izzy Noble, 9, from Rosehearty is the show’s ambassador and one of the stars – and has been receiving treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.

During her time in hospital, The Archie Foundation has provided Izzy and her family with support through providing her parents with accommodation so they can stay closer to her.

She will be singing at the show with the support oflocal band Glitz who are providing music during the rehearsals and at the show.

Izzy said: “I am so excited about performing at the Tivoli, I can’t wait to get on such an amazing stage.

“Performing and fundraising are two of my favourite things, so getting to do both at the same time is a dream come true.”

Alan McHugh, who has appeared in His Majesty’s Theatre’s annual panto since 2004, will be hosting the show, presenting the youngsters’ many talents.

Fundraising manager at The Archie Foundation, Cassie McGunnigle stated: “We are counting down to Saturday and everyone is so incredibly looking forward to performing.

“The children have been amazing and everyone who is coming to the show is in for a fantastic evening. They are so talented and committed to giving their very best.”

Cassie added: “This is our first Variety Show and we hope to raise a lot of vital funds for The Archie Foundation, but the event is so much more – it gives the children the opportunity to take part in an unmissable experience.”

“They have all been supported by The Archie Foundation or NHS Grampian through illness, injury or bereavement and it’s heart-warming to see how they have bonded as a group and are cheering each other on. We can’t wait to show the audience their talents.”
