Step-by-Step Performance Testing of MyRecover

In this section, we create 2 test loss scenarios and use MyRecover to recover data. We will show you our test evaluation, so let’s read on.

Test Preparation:

  • Test scenario 1: Accidental deletion

We create a folder on the C drive that contains several file types – PDF documents, JPEG images, MP4 video files, and several Excel sheets. Then, delete the folder and empty the Recycle Bin to simulate accidental deletion.

  • Test scenario 2: Format drive

We use a USB drive loaded with a variety of files, including large video files. Then, format the USB drive to simulate a scenario where the drive is accidentally formatted.

Test Procedures:

We download and install MyRecover on our Windows computer. In MyRecover, hover the mouse over the C drive or formatted USB drive and then click Scan to begin the scanning process.

MyRecover will perform a Quick scan or a Deep scan for all deleted files on the selected drive. We find that the scan time is fast, about 4 minutes. Once the scan is complete, it provides filter and preview features to quickly find and view the wanted files.

After verifying the content and integrity of the file before recovery, click Recover x Files and choose a recovery location that is different from the original location to avoid potential data overwriting.

After the recovery is completed, we go to the recovery location and check if the recovered file (MP4 video) is successfully recovered and if there is any loss.

Evaluation:

  • MyRecover’s interface is intuitive. It recovers lost/deleted data from Windows within 3 easy steps.
  • MyRecover did a great job recovering files from the deleted folder and the formatted drives. However, it faces challenges when dealing with corrupted files on formatted hard disks and damaged partitions.
  • We were impressed by the quick and deep scans. This scanning process is quite fast and can search for more recoverable files than we expected.
  • The ability to preview files before recovery was a standout feature, ensuring we only recovered what I actually needed.

In the End

This test of MyRecover has shown that it is a reliable Windows recovery tool for data recovery needs. In addition, this tool can easily and quickly recover data when PC won’t boot. The recovery process of MyRecover is also secure and will not overwrite existing data. If you need to recover lost data, MyRecover is definitely worth a try.
