A MIKE Tyson superfan has taken his support to the next level by getting the boxer’s famous face tattoo – in ultraviolet ink.
The “die hard” fan went under the needle at Infinite Ink22 parlour in Eastborne, East Sussex last month in preparation for Tyson’s upcoming bout against Jake Paul.
However, the unnamed fan decided to ramp things up even further, requesting that the tattooist use ultraviolet ink for its outline to allow the tattoo to glow in the dark.
Footage shows the result of the tattoo as the man, dressed in a black jumper with a gold chain around his neck, launches a few jabs at the camera.
In addition to the new tattoo, the bloke has two black teardrops tattooed on the right side of his face as he looks fiercely into the lens.
The Maori tattoo encircles the client’s eye and glows a bioluminescent blue and white.
The cool tones light up half the man’s face in a dark blue colour, before the clip cuts to show the effort that went into the artwork.
The bloke is seen lying down as he is slowly inked up, with on-screen text reading: “Die-hard Mike Tyson fan gets the infamous tattoo”.
The tattooist can be seen hard at work as he carefully colours in the curves of the tattoo.
The man squeezes his eyes shut as the displayed text then reads: “And decided to add UV ink to make it pop”.
The client grins as the ultraviolet ink is then added to the outer lining of the tattoo.
The face tattoo is then lined with white as the on-screen text reads: “This ink is invisible to the naked eye”.
The camera then cuts to the tattoo at its end stages as a luminous blue is added to the ink.
The on-screen text then poses the question: “It’s clear who he is backing for the Tyson vs Paul fight. Do you know anyone who would get a tattoo like this?”
The clip then cuts to show the portrait of the man’s face as he shows off the finished look, with a UV light shining over the artwork to show off its glow.
The footage was posted on social media last month with the caption: “Mike Tyson fan is certain he’ll win with his new UV face tattoo.”
The post received over 950 likes and dozens of comments from users left stunned by the bold tattoo.
However, some slammed the man for appropriating the M?ori culture despite Tyson not being from the Polynesian population.
One person wrote: “Do people not know that’s a cultural tattoo?”
Another said: “He must be so proud of himself.”
A third commented: “Hello. It’s Tike Myson.”
A fourth added: “Blud thinks he’s bioluminescent.”
Tyson first got the t? moko tattoo in 2003 as he prepared to fight boxer Clifford Etienne.
The 57-year-old former heavyweight champion is now preparing for his next bout which will see him face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on 20 July.
