Pro-Palestine protestors daub graffiti over Barclays bank leaving branch wrecked with smashed glass strewn along street

PRO-PALESTINE protestors have daubed graffiti onto the front of a bank in the capital of the United Kingdom following a violent protest.

Police were called to the Barclays bank branch yesterday located on the corner of Church Street and North End in Croydon, South London.

Some of those in attendance quickly began vandalising the scene, including smashing the shop front and hauling down a Barclays sign which was left in a pile of glass.

Police quickly acted to close off the scene with crime scene tape wrapped around to ensure no members of the public wander near to the plates of shattered glass.

The bank branch was left trashed.

Footage shared on social media shows the graffiti and slogans daubed onto the corporation windows.

Thick, red, spray paint reads: “Free Palestine”, “Stop funding genocide” and “Baby killers stop arming Israel.”

Numerous parts of the bank branch have been left vandalised following yesterday’s protests.

In the background of the video, the alarms of the Barclays branch can be heard wailing as the video ends by showing a police car in attendance at the scene.

The footage of the aftermath was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Barclays Bank in Croydon has been vandalised.

“Red graffiti reading ‘Free Palestine’ and ‘Stop Funding Genocide.’ Windows [were] also smashed.

“This is threatening and criminal behaviour, worse than anything I’ve seen in the UK from the far right in years.”

The video footage received 2,700 likes and hundreds of comments from social media users left stunned by the amount of damage done to the branch.

One said: “These guys are helping to put up the cost of banking fees for the public.

“Talk to the politicians first, they are the ones who allow any funding through laws.

“Stop taking this out on the public or you’ll lose their support.”

Another added: “This kind of damage is not a work of moments – where were the police?”

A third joked: “Absolutely disgusting, they didn’t even go for the money. Look at those cash points, completely untouched. Bloody kids of today.”

Another added: “Society is breaking down; anyone feels empowered to do anything they like in the name of their virtue.”
