AN EDINBURGH Fringe Festival rental has left Scots staggered as the two-bed flat is commanding over £8,300 a month.
The small apartment in Edinburgh’s Leith district was listed last Friday and is available to tenants exclusively during the festival.
Tenants are offered the opportunity to live in the extortionately priced flat for weekly payments of an eye-watering £1,923.
The two-bedroom property in the Scottish capital is looking for Fringe-goers to take up occupancy rom the end of July for a maximum of six weeks.
For the whopping sum of £8,333 in total, renters will be offered parking, bills included in the weekly rent cost and no admin fees for the rental.
The first-floor property offers a fully equipped kitchen, gas central heating and double glazing.
Edinburgh locals were left reeling by the sky-high price, with the property’s description adding little to justify the cost.
The description reads: “This extremely well-presented property is offered as an Edinburgh Festival holiday let.
“A first-floor apartment, with lift access and parking available, this property is only rented out for up to 6 weeks per year.
“Currently the property has twin beds in the en-suite bedroom and a king size bed in the second bedroom.
“There is an additional family bathroom with shower over bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances.
“There is gas central heating and double glazing throughout. All bills are included in the weekly rental.”
The extortionate monthly price nearly works out to be the same as most renters in the area
One outraged house-hunter shared the home to social media yesterday with the caption: “£8,333 for a two-bedroom flat…
“Isn’t this crazy? I saw flats with three bedrooms and way more spacious with a reasonable price, but this? What is happening? It’s a holiday let for the festival but £8,333?”
The post received dozens of likes and comments from other social media users left outraged by the extortionate price.
One user said: “With bills included and no agent fees then you better be growing cannabis for £8k a month.”
Another added: “If some idiot will pay it why not? I know people who would think this is a good idea and they aren’t very smart.”
A third commented: “Bills included… aye I would think so.”
Another replied: “Per year, maybe aye. Per month, get tae (sic) f**k.”
