Hilarious footy fail sees Aston Villa fan squander moment he’s “dreamt of for 31 years” with laughable miskick

THIS is the hilarious moment an Aston Villa fan messes up his big moment on the turf of his beloved football team with a horrific miskick.

Alex Davis had been picked to play the half-time game over the weekend as Aston Villa hosted their midlands rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 31-year-old tried to seize his moment in a challenge to successfully place the ball onto a large tarpaulin badge at the halfway line with a perfect pass.

However, Alex from Birmingham, West Midlands, blew the moment he’d been “dreamt of for 31 years” – but hilariously shrugged it off as the result of his pre-match boozing.

Video shows the Villa supporter as he lines up his attempt on his right foot whilst the Villa PA can be heard offering encouragement saying: “Come on Alex, you’re up in three, two, one.”

As the countdown ends, Alex takes a few steps before drawing back his right foot in preparation to unleash a powerful shot.

Despite his best efforts the Villa supporter is forced to watch as he catches the wrong side of the ball and chips it towards a watching groundsman who harmlessly lets the ball trickle away.

Unfazed by his poor attempt, Alex takes the opportunity to revel in front of his fellow fans, tearing away in fervor as he quickly copies Villa captain John McGinn’s goggles celebration.

Whilst Alex continues soaking up the applause and cheers from supporters, the PA can be heard telling him: “You’ll get nothing from Keith the groundsman son, nothing from Keith.”

Alex shared the hilarious video yesterday online, writing: “For 31 years, I’ve dreamt of kicking a football on that pitch and this is what I managed to conjure up, maybe ten pints pre-match wasn’t the greatest idea.”

The post received over 1,800 likes with dozens of comments from football fans who were quick to praise the Villa fan for his effort.

One said: “Entertainment at its best.”

Another added: “Aw Alex, great celebration though.”

A third commented: “Megged the groundsman mate, proper skills.”

Another replied: “You can tell by the walk up, you thought you were going to nail it, up the Villa.”

Alex witnessed another Aston Villa win as The Villans kept their UEFA Champions League dream alive.

Unai Emery’s men currently hold the fourth and final guaranteed spot for next season’s tournament leading Spurs by just three points.
