KT Tunstall left buzzing after Kelly Clarkson covers her classic hit

SCOTS singer KT Tunstall has been left buzzing after one of her biggest hits was covered by Kelly Clarkson on her TV show in the United States.

Tunstall took to social media earlier this week after Kelly Clarkson covered her hit Black Horse and the Cherry Tree on her self-titled talk show.

The Texas native opted to cover Tunstall’s 2004 hit two decades on from when the Edinburgh born singer garnered attention for her own performance on Later… with Jools Holland.

In the clip shared on social media earlier this week Clarkson sports a white t-shirt and black trousers with hooped gold earrings as she readies up her performance on the ‘Kellyoke’ section of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The host then delivers a pitch-perfect performance, leaving the crowd whooping their approval as the clip comes to an end.

The musical feature received over 800 likes with dozens of comments from fans of both Clarkson and Tunstall quick to comment on the 41-year-old’s cover of the track.

Tunstall, 48, reacted to the incredible performance from Clarkson and posted her thoughts in a reply to the clip.

The Scot reacted: “I mean, the biggest woohoo!”

She finished the reply with a variety of red love heart emojis and a face with love heart eyes showing her admiration for her fellow artist.

Another user added: “KT Tunstall must be so proud right now, wow as a huge fan of both ladies, this made my heart melt.”

A third replied: “The cover we always needed.”

Another commented: “She is so, so talented.”

KT Tunstall got her big break after US rapper Nas was unable to attend an episode of Later… with Jools Holland, resulting in Tunstall stepping in to perform Black Horse and the Cherry Tree.

She would later go on to win Best British Female at the 2006 Brit Awards.
