Brits fuming after wife shares her husband’s “most boring Nando’s” order

A BRIT man has been mocked for ordering the “most boring Nando’s ever” after his wife shared what he gets from the food chain.

Weight loss influencer Nicole ordered in dinner from the restaurant on Monday and decided to film a video for her followers to show the difference in calories between her and her husband’s meal.

However, viewers were gobsmacked to learn that her hubby’s order from Nando’s – which specialises in flame grilled peri-peri style chicken – consists of a whole plain chicken and two portions of mash.

The clip begins with Nicole unpacking the meals as she explains: “Calorie count my husband’s Nando’s with me who can eat pretty much whatever he wants, whenever he wants.”

Weight loss influencer Nicole shared a plate-up video calorie counting dishing up dinner from the South African- Portuguese outlet for her husband that left viewers stunned.

The mum opens the delivery from the South African casual food chain and reveals that her husband had opted for a whole chicken, saying: “He’s gone for a whole chicken that looks like this for 1,136 calories.

“He has it plain because he hates any spice or flavour – then he gets two of the large sides, he goes for two mashed potatoes, which are 552 calories each.”

Nicole then spoons out one of the containers which covers almost half of the plate, saying: “That’s what one looks like, one large portion of mash.

“The total calories for the mash is 1,104 calories. In total, his Nando’s comes to 2,240 calories, he has no sauce or anything like that.”

In contrast Nicole, who is on a “weight loss journey” shows her order, which is more familiar to fans of the chain.

She says: “Let’s plate out my Nando’s as someone who is on a weight loss journey, so I actually go for the kids Nando’s, it’s called Nandino’s because it’s cheaper at £7.99.

“I always go for lemon and herb because I like a little bit of flavour but not too much spice, and I go for the burger for 288 calories, quite a good size.

“My burger comes with lettuce and tomato then for my sides I always go for this mini portion of chips. You get two sides, this is 224 calories, I find it’s just enough.

“I’ve also gone for 16 calories – just a teeny, tiny portion of broccoli on the side and then quite often I actually go in and have a chilli jam as well for 66 calories.

“I just pop that on top of my broccoli and it’s so yummy – so this is my plate for 594 calories.”

The video was shared to social media earlier this week with the caption: “Calorie count mine and my husband’s Nando’s.”

The plate-up received over 53,000 likes with hundreds of comments from bemused users focusing on her husband’s meal.

One said: “Sorry, no sauce is criminal.”

Another added: “His Nando’s is the most boring Nando’s I’ve ever seen in my life.”

A third replied: “Plain whole chicken and double mash from Nando’s, that man should be locked up.”

Another responded: “No flavour and no peri-peri fries? What’s the point in having Nando’s?”

Nando’s was created in 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa by Fernando Duarte and his friend Robert Brozin.

They opened their first UK store in 1992 in Ealing and Earls Court, West London, and currently operate a whopping 465 restaurants across the UK.
