Family prank bloke freshly released from prison with policemen pretending to arrest him at the gates

A FAMILY pulled a hilarious prank on a bloke freshly released from prison by having police officers pretend to arrest him again straight out of the gates.

The man, known only as Rids, was released from prison in Luton, Bedfordshire yesterday, and was greeted by his family recording the moment he walked out.

However, Rids had no idea of the surprise they had in store for him, as they stood alongside several officers by the gate who agreed to a playful prank of arresting him again straight away.

The footage shows three male police officers gathered around the gates of the prison next to Rids’ family who wait eagerly in anticipation.

The man fell for the prank, looking seriously worried when he spotted police.

The prison door soon opens and Rids steps out with a grin on his face as the officers turn to greet him, with one of Rids’ family saying: “Here he is, he’s the geezer – yes my guy.”

Rids’ face soon drops and his smile fades as he tentatively greets the officer at the front who asks: “How you doing?”

Rids shrugs his shoulders and lets out a sigh of defeat, seemingly accepting his fate and believing he’s being taken straight back in.

However, his family cannot keep it quiet and burst into howls of laughter, rushing to him to capture his reaction up close.

Confused, Rids asks, “Am I getting gate arrested?”, but his family reassure him that he’s safe for now, still laughing at his expense.

Rids begins to laugh as well and holds his hands to his head in disbelief as the coppers chuckle to themselves and head back inside.

Rids’ family continue to cackle with laughter at their stitch-up as the newly free man throws his bag to the ground and paces around, howling along with his pals.

Rids shared the footage to social media yesterday with the caption: “From my face you can tell i gave up ready to cry and if [you’re] asking where I have been, I’m back.”

The clip has since received over 444,500 likes and more than 4,000 comments from social media users left in stitches by the hilarious prank.

One user said: “My husband was gate arrested three times over a 33 year period. It never got easier. I wish we could’ve told him it was a joke. He died inside on a 10 stretch.”

Another added: “Fair play to officers being in on it… They knew it would be a classic.”

A third wrote: “I laughed way too hard at this. I don’t know what’s funnier, the penny dropping for the guy or the cackler in the background. Love it.”

A fourth replied: “That’s ace, his poor face when he saw the cops stoop there. Priceless.”
