Dinner for two?: Brits left divided over innocent pasta question that has since gone viral

BRITS have been left divided over their thoughts on pasta servings after a woman’s innocent question has since gone viral.

The woman, known only as Hannah, took to social media yesterday evening to share a picture of a packet of Tesco tortellini fresh egg pasta.

Hannah queried whether people would share a packet with someone else or if they would eat an entire one alone.

The Italian cuisine was recently voted the United Kingdom’s favourite but divided opinion online with some even claiming that they could get the pasta to stretch to four servings.

Hannah’s image shows the spinach and ricotta pasta which Tesco describes as “fresh Italian egg pasta parcels filled with creamy ricotta and spinach”.

The packet also alerts buyers to cook the pasta on the hob for just three minutes before serving and claims the pasta should be shared between two with the front of the packet offering nutritional advice.

However, Hannah took to social media yesterday and shared the pic with the caption: “Do you lot eat one of these packets each or one between the two of you?

“Because I told my mate I have one to myself and he couldn’t believe it.”

Her post quickly went viral gathering over 5,000 likes and hundreds of comments from many social media users disagreeing over how they enjoy their Italian food.

One said: “Full one of them, jar of tomato and mascarpone, garlic bread, asleep ten minutes later.”

Another added: “It only fills one pasta bowl so horse a full one into you, bit of bread as well and a wee vino.”

A third replied: “It comfortably does one, no way does it do two.”

Another commented: “With enough veg, we can make that lot serve four portions, no-one’s blood sugar needs that much refined carb in one sitting, surely?”

A fifth responded: “It’s a lot of carbs that, essentially like having five or six slices of bread per pack based on amount of fat.”

According to YouGov, the most popular Italian food in the UK is garlic bread, with 82% of the population admitting in a poll to enjoying the delicious side dish.
