Heartwarming moment woman comes to the aid of her delivery courier

A KIND-HEARTED woman rushed to the aid of her courier after he suffered a flat tyre whilst delivering her food, helping him get back on the road whilst picking up her food.

Millie Scriven was enjoying a night in with her friends last week in Maidstone, Kent and decided to forego cooking in favour of ordering a Nando’s.

The girls had been patiently waiting for their meal but soon noticed that the app said the food had been eight minutes away for 40 minutes – because their deliveryman had suffered a puncture.

Video shows Millie sat on the couch at home calling the delivery courier’s number to try and find out some information about what was happening.

She says: “Hi Soffala, we’ve been waiting a little while for our Nando’s, we’re just wondering how long it’s going to be?”

Millie is soon shocked and left with her mouth open after the man who answers the phone replies: “So I’m not actually your delivery driver, I’ve got the gentleman who’s delivering it.

“He doesn’t speak good English, but he’s got a flat tyre on his bike and he’s trying to get a hold of the support but they’re not answering.”

Despite the unfortunate news, Millie isn’t put off and queries whether she can come to collect the food from Soffala, asking: “Has he got our food on him, should I go to him? I’m starving.”

The anonymous interpreter confirms that Millie can come to collect the food if she wishes and arranges to meet her at Maidstone East station.

Hilariously, Millie issues a rallying cry to her friends saying: “Come on girls, we’re going on a road trip.”

The group are next shown in Millie’s car driving towards Maidstone East station when her friend points over and exclaims: “I see him, there with the backpack on.”

Millie winds down her window and asks: “Soffala, with the Nando’s, what’s happened to your tyre?”

Incredibly, as well as collecting her food, Millie also offers her courier the use of her electric pump which helps to blow his tyre back up and get him on the road.

The clip ends as the good Samaritans who took the phone call aid the courier in getting his tyre back to use.

Millie shared the heartwarming clip to social media last week (MAR 10) with the caption: “When your Deliveroo driver has a flat tyre, just wanted a peaceful Nando’s – shoutout to the lads [for real].”

Her post received over 220,000 likes with thousands of comments from social media users who were touched by her kindness.

One said: “They deserve a Nando’s gift card for this.”

Another added: “Come on girls, we’re going on a road trip – the kindest and most jovial words uttered, class reaction.”

A third replied: “As a driver myself, thank you for being kind, things like this can’t be helped, I use my car and [this] could happen to any of us.”

Nando’s also commented on the post, mysteriously saying: “Check your DMs.”
