Shocking moment Irish HGV driver finds migrants stowed on his lorry – but they’re heading the wrong way

THIS is the shocking moment an Irish HGV driver discovered a pair of migrants stowed away in his lorry after he crossed over into France.

Cian Kenneally found the two hiding in his vehicle upon a stop in Marquise yesterday after he crossed into the continent via Dover, Kent.

However, the duo had made a huge mistake opting for Cian’s lorry, with the driver actually journeying further into France and not back to the UK, where the pair were clearly hoping to head.

Video filmed on Cian’s phone shows the driver moving to open the storage compartment beneath his lorry, apparently having realised that he has stowaways who climbed aboard in Calais.

The HGV driver offered the migrants advice.

Cian opens the compartment whilst exclaiming: “Get out to f**k will ye (sic).”

Shockingly, two migrants then emerge from the darkness of the space inside, hopping out warily as one of the pair drops his phone in surprise.

The two eye up Cian, who continues: “Wrong way lads, wrong way. Not England.”

The guilty pair then smile and laugh as Cian himself chuckles at the situation, before the two brazenly ask the driver for directions.

One of the men brings up a map on his phone, and Cian offers his best attempt at directions, saying: “You’re in Marquise. You’re not that far from Calais, but I don’t know where the train is.”

The two men then stare at Cian and begin to head in the direction of Calais – more than 13 miles in the wrong direction from where they started.

As they walk off, Cian comments: “You boys are actually sound in fairness, you’ve a bit of a walk lads.”

Cian shared the footage of the odd encounter to social media yesterday with the caption: “Stopped in Pidou shop in Calais after just arriving form Dover, the boys obviously thought I was heading for UK though.”

The clip has since gained over 36,800 likes and more than 200 comments from users left bewildered by Cian’s encounter.

One user said: “Why didn’t you take them further away rather than letting them back out in Calais?”

Another added: “Get a paintball gun and do [them] up next time.”

A third wrote: “Should have taken them further in land.”

Another replied: “Oh my God, hearing your voice and realising this is real.”
