THIS is the bizarre moment that a parking warden opts not to penalise a driver for their questionable decision to illegally leave their car in a bus stop.
The footage shows a car blatantly parked in a bus stop with a parking attendant looking on and seemingly ignoring the illegally parked vehicle yesterday in Donegall Square, Belfast.
Standing just feet from the car the parking attendant continues to watch on as a bus comes into view aiming to get into the blocked bus stop.
The warden stands and seems poised to issue a ticket as he taps away at his handheld device while an elderly woman throws her hand up to signal for her bus to stop.
However, the owner of the vehicle appears just as the bus is forced to stop at an awkward angle to allow passengers to disembark and allow others onboard.
The parking warden steps off the road onto the pavement allowing the man to leave the scene without receiving a physical ticket – although it is not known if the warden may have electronically punished him.
The man jumps into his silver Skoda and cheekily drivers ahead of the bus before being forced to stop at a set of traffic lights just yards from where he was parked.
The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Lmao.”
The post received dozens of likes and comments from social media users who were left shocked at the driver’s actions.
One said: “The driver’s mistake here was not parking on the pavement, where it seems wardens are powerless.”
Another added: “Why’s there something sinister about the traffic wardens uniform. Like Nazi germany or something.”
A third said: “That bus driver let his team down, he should’ve stopped with his doors forward of the illegally parked car, blocking him in.”
Another replied: “Brilliantly done. The woman as well looking blocking his view of the front plate got my vote lol.”
