ScotRail cracks up commuters after passenger notices “live haggis transport” sign on door

SCOTRAIL has cracked up commuters after one passenger noticed the company’s “live haggis transport” sign on a train door.

One Scot spotted the signage on Wednesday during their journey and called it the “highlight” of their day.

The light-hearted ‘warning’ is just one of many Scottish-themed signs employed by the rail company to keep passengers from entering staff-only areas.

The door in question reads, “Stay out: Live haggis transport”, in a playful attempt to keep their staff areas secure.

Commuters were left tickled by the funny signage.

Other signs spotted across ScotRail’s services include, “Stay out: Tartan paint storage”, “Stay Out: Onboard whisky distillery” and “Stay out: bagpipe practice room”.

The signs were first introduced on ScotRail trains several years ago but can easily go unnoticed by commuters,

The passenger shared their find to social media yesterday with the caption: “I never knew that ScotRail was involved in Haggis transportation. That explains the strange noise on the train.

“Just wanted to share a highlight from my day yesterday. This is my favourite door that I’ve come across next to the one for tartan paint.”

The post has since gained dozens of likes and comments from fellow Scots who were quick to get in on the joke.

One user said: “I am against the commercial haggis trade. My preference is for traditional wild haggis hunting.

“I don’t like the popular practice of haggis farming which requires transportation of haggis to abattoirs.”

Another added: “They make it sound all cute, but what is really going on behind that door is hundreds of haggis running on wheels. The trains are haggis powered.”

A third wrote: “End the illegal trafficking of haggis now. Boycott ScotRail.”

Another joked: “You can hear them trying to batter down the door, poor things.”
