‘Inspiring Inclusion – Transforming Lives’ – public event for International Women’s Day

A SCOTS university is hosting a free and public International Women’s Day 2024 event on Friday 8 March.

The event at the University of Dundee will feature the Chair of the University’s Court, Amanda Millar.

Millar was the first open member of the LGBTQ+ community to be President of the Law Society of Scotland.

The event is expected to inspire discussions around intersectionality, life experiences, and careers.

Millar is expected to host her talk ‘Inspiring Inclusion – Transforming Lives’ where she will share her experiences and insights with reflection on intersectional life and her career.

Mhairi Taylor, the University’s Deputy Director of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion will moderate the event.

Attendees can expect an amalgamation of real-world examples and thoughts on inclusion and its importance with an opportunity for contribution from those attending.

The University’s Institutional Athena Swan SAT (Self-Assessment Team) in collaboration with the Public Engagement team organised the event.

‘Inspiring Inclusion – Transforming Lives’ is a public event, open to staff, students and the wider community.

Ms. Millar said: “International Women’s Day is a dedicated opportunity for everyone to reflect, share and learn from experiences. I am looking forward to speaking, listening and hopefully contributing to ‘Inspiring Inclusion’.”

The event takes place from 15.30 to 17.00 in the university’s Dalhousie Building.
