A BRIT was left in disbelief after she got stuck in the toilet of a funeral parlour right before the service she was due to attend began.
Courtney Daly was left in a pickle when the toilet door appeared to lock on its own accord and wouldn’t budge despite her desperate attempts.
Courtney from Gosport, Hampshire tried to contact her sister, but her calls were left unanswered, leaving the 25-year-old panicking.
Thankfully, her absence was eventually realised, and a locksmith was called to let aesthetician Courtney out, leaving her with just three minutes to spare before the funeral began.
Hilarious footage begins with Courtney looking at the camera in shock as she says: “I’m in a funeral and I’m locked in a toilet.”
She bangs on the door as she adds: “I’m fully locked in.”
Courtney places the camera down on the sink as she walks back over to the door to yank the handle and push the door – but her attempts at fruitless.
She begins to stress as her situation dawns on her, saying in disbelief to the camera: “I’m locked in a cemetery and my sister ain’t answering her phone.”
The clip then cuts to Courtney frantically jumping up and down as she tries to pull the handle in all directions to alleviate the lock which is firmly wedged into the frame.
Ten minutes pass as she then says: “I’m at the funeral with my sister and she ain’t answering the phone.
“I rang her ten times. So, I’ve just got to sit here and hope that in 20 minutes’ time, she thinks, ‘Where’s Courtney’ and rings me.”
The clip then cuts to Courtney breathing heavily as on-screen text reads: “The moment I started to panic”.
She presses her hands into a prayer symbol as she ponders on what to do, anxiously saying to the camera: “It’s going to get dark.”
The clip then cuts to Courtney banging on the door while calling for help where, thankfully this time, there appears to be a person on the other side of the door who hears her pleas.
However, they can then be heard admitting, “I can’t get you out”, to which Courtney shouts back frustratedly: “Yeah. Well, neither can I.”
The clip cuts again to Courtney pulling gently on the handle as it seems a locksmith has come to her rescue.
The on-screen text reads: “They had to get a locksmith. Forty-five minutes I’ve been in here at this point.”
A group of people can be heard muttering on the other side as the locksmith drills into the lock.
Moments later, Courtney is finally freed and she joyfully swings open the door to a woman on the other side as cheers can be heard.
The video then cuts to Courtney at the funeral outside as she gives a thumbs up to the camera, with text reading: “After an hour and fifteen minutes, I’m free with three minutes to spare”.
Courtney took to social media on Monday to share the hilarious incident, writing: “I went to a funeral, got locked in the toilet and nearly missed the service”.
The post received over 45,100 likes and dozens of comments from Brits left in stitches by Courtney’s accident.
One person wrote: “You were really calm. I would have been having a full panic attack.”
Another said: “Worst day ever already and you get locked in a bathroom alone. I would have given up and been on [the] floor crying.”
A third joked: “I would have started screaming and then have been mistaken for an annoyed ghost or something.”
A fourth added: “Jesus Christ. I’m so claustrophobic I would have hyperventilated and passed out. Fair play to you, girl.”
