A SHOCKING video shows the moment an Irish bus loses control on an icy road and crashes into a wall in a near-360-degree skid.
The accident occurred last week outside of the Blarney Auto Centre in Blarney, Cork City and was captured on CCTV.
The nail-biting footage sees the bus skid sideways into a low wall before spinning almost entirely round amid the treacherous below-zero temperatures.
The CCTV footage, filmed playing on a TV, show the empty road just before 7am, with the voices of onlookers commentating in the background.
A voice says, “Here we go, here comes” as the red and white bus comes into frame, already angled sideways as it skids wildly.
The vehicle’s front wheels mount the pavement and crash onto a low wall, bumping right over the structure as one of the onlookers gasps: “F***ing hell.”
The front of the bus is torn apart, and miscellaneous debris is sent flying across the scene, before the jolt from the crash sends the vehicle spiralling back onto the road and spinning round.
The bus is left facing the wrong way, but continues to veer out of control, with the road acting as an ice rink.
The vehicle slowly spins round with the driver helpless as the voice of one of the watching Irishmen says: “Holy smokes.”
The vehicle thankfully comes to a gradual stop, having spun an entire 270-degrees and now sprawled across both lanes of the road, blocking any would-be commuters.
Locals have since been left fuming with the council, alleging that they failed to properly grit the section of road prior to the crash taking place.
The footage was posted to social media last week with the caption: “Blarney, Cork.”
The clip has since received over 200 likes and comments from users who were quick to chip in with their thoughts on the accident.
One user joked: “The wife told me to take the bus home from the pub if I was pissed, turns out I couldn’t drive that either.”
Another added: “Blame the council not the driver the place was covered in black ice and not a grain of salt or grit in sight.”
A third said: “Problem is that Blarney is included in the new city boundary and Cork City Council are now responsible for the roads but given that they forgot to grit the northside of the city centre, it’s no surprise this happened.”
A fourth added: “Serious engineering to be fair, don’t know how that didn’t end up on its side.”
