Pub-goer left in stitches after phoning bar only to be met with hilarious robotic voice on the other end

A PUB-GOER was left in stitches after phoning to change her reservation – only to be met with a hilarious robotic voice on the other end of the line.

Aditi Bhalla made the call to Alice House in Queen’s Park, London on Wednesday when a bizarre-sounding member of staff answered the phone.

The Londoner was soon left trying to contain her laughter after a strange glitch down the phone line had left the unwitting staff member sounding more like an android than a bartender.

Hilarious footage shows Aditi on the phone to the pub while holding back fits of laughter as she says: “Four people to five people please.”

Her sister films the unravelling situation as on-screen text reads: “I’m actually crying laughing. I called the pub to change a reservation, and this was the guy’s voice. I can’t breathe.”

The camera closes in on the phone in a moment of silence before a hilarious voice – resembling a droid from Star Wars – responds: “And what time is the reservation?”

Aditi can be seen trying to compose herself before releasing a slight chuckle as she says: “It’s at 6:30.”

The person on the other end of the phone can be heard replying indistinguishably as Aditi tries to hold back the laughter.

She quickly puts the phone on mute as she and the cameraperson let out bursts of giggles.

However, she then recomposes herself as she takes the call off mute and confirming her answer to the staff member’s unheard question.

Aditi appears to struggle to breathe as she tries to compose herself and can be seen swatting at her sister in a hilarious attempt to stop laughing.

The robotic voice then replies: “Okay. I’ve just changed that for you.”

Aditi then puts the call back on mute for a moment as the pair wheeze with laughter, before quickly confirming to the unaware staff member: “Thank you so much.”

The robotic voice then hilariously replies: “You’re welcome. Take care, see you later. Goodbye.”

Aditi – who has managed to hold herself together for the most part – then hilariously bursts out in laughter as she replies: “Thanks, bye.”

She then ends the call and she and her sister are left in tears of laughter at the staff member’s unfortunate glitch.

Aditi took to social media on Wednesday to share the side-splitting footage, writing: “I’m creasing hahaha what the f**k.”

The clip received over 276,600 likes and more than 3,280 comments from users left howling as they made comparisons to the voices of several TV and movie characters.

One person joked: “He’s so calm and accommodating for someone who’s drowning deep at sea.”

Another said: “The droid generals from Clone Wars.”

A third commented: “It sounds like that one toy on Toy Story where Buzz figures out it’s Al.”

Another added: “He was calling from a droid phone.”

A fifth quipped: “Me when I put the quality of my Mii’s voice all the way up in Tomodachi Life.”

Aditi provided further context in the comment section, explaining: “It was a glitch – I asked the pub staff when I was there.

“It’s literally an issue with the pubs phone connection, he said it and I’m at the pub and he doesn’t sound like that.”

Alice House in Queen’s Park has been approached for comment.

Speaking to Aditi today she said: “I was calling a pub I had a reservation with to modify my booking from four people to five people and when the man answered the phone I was really confused why he like sounded like that.

“He mentioned there was an error with the machine before the video was recorded and I couldn’t hold back my laughter, so my sister started recording the end of the call which is what is seen in the video.

“The robotic voice was an issue with the line but I wasn’t able to continue to conversation properly and had to keep muting my mic so I didn’t laugh.”
