SPIDER-MAN actor Tom Holland’s father has admitted that the movie star is his favourite child in a hilarious new stand-up routine.
Dominic Holland is the father to four boys – with 27-year-old Tom being the eldest – and is in the entertainment business himself as a comedian and writer.
The 56-year-old, who won the 1993 Perrier Best Newcomer Award in Edinburgh, hilariously discussed what it’s like to be the dad of one of the world’s most recognised actors in a recent performance.
The video begins with Dominic pacing on-stage as he addresses the audience saying: “My eldest son’s an actor. Yeah, he’s called Tom, he’s called Tom Holland and he plays Peter Parker in the movies.
“If you’ve watched Spider-Man: Far From Home, if you’ve watched [Avengers] Endgame, the boy who plays Spider-Man is my eldest son.
“And what that means is that I genuinely don’t need to be here.”
The audience cracks up at Dominic’s honesty as he continues: “I’m asked all the time ‘He’s the eldest is he, he’s the eldest of four boys yeah? So, how does that affect your other boys?’
“That’s the question that I’m always asked, ‘How does that affect your other boys?’
“And my answer to that is, what other boys?
“Don’t get me wrong folks, I know you’re not supposed to have a favourite child, but I think you can make an exception when one of them’s Spider-Man.”
The audience roar with laughter as Dominic shrugs his shoulders, nonchalant about his honesty as he jokingly dismisses other sons Harry, Paddy and Sam Holland.
The video was uploaded to social media on Saturday with the caption: “I love his humor but poor Harry, Sam and Paddy by the way, I would die to see Dominic in real life performing, he’s hilarious.”
The video has since received over 48,000 likes and more than 150 comments from users who seemingly couldn’t believe the link between the comedian and his superstar son.
One user commented: “No way Dominic Holland is related to Tom Holland.”
Another wrote: “I haven’t seen Dom Holland do stand up in years (and yeah, he’s Tom’s dad).”
A third said: “So this is how Tom will sound in 40 years.”
Another replied: “Once you know that Dom Holland is Tom’s dad you can’t unsee it! Tom is so like him.”
Tom Holland has been portraying the fan-favourite superhero since he debuted as the character in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War.
Tom has become the third actor to play Peter Parker on the big screen along with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, all of whom returned in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home.
