A HILARIOUS video shows the moment that a Ryan Reynolds lookalike is bombarded with selfie requests by oblivious travellers at an airport.
Shaun Birley is a model and influencer who has gained a following for his travel vlogs and fashion advice – and bears a resemblance to the Canadian Hollywood superstar.
The 33-year-old showed this resemblance off with a clip of him waiting to board a plane in an airport in Taiwan, where he was subjected to constant selfie requests from unwitting fans.
The video begins with the Aussie sitting in a three-piece blue suit and holding a cup of coffee whilst he waits at a terminal gate in the airport.
There, he is approached by a seemingly awestruck woman, who timidly asks for a selfie as Shaun reads his newspaper.
Immediately deciding to play into his resemblance, Shaun replies: “Yeah, you want? Of course, let’s do a selfie, let’s do a selfie, let’s do one.”
Shaun stands up to begin posing with the fan as a friend is ushered over to join them, Shaun continues: “Quickly, get in here. I can take it for you.”
Shaun then holds the woman’s phone aloft and points it towards the three of them whilst they strike a pose with the peace sign.
Moments later, another woman accosts Shaun and says: “I will be the last one.”
Shaun replies: “Yeah, let’s take one.”
The woman bounces in excitement and thanks Shaun to which he responds: “No problem, any time.”
With this, the influencer appears to have caught the attention of others in the terminal who have seen those approaching who they believe to be the Deadpool actor.
A man approaches Shaun next as he says: “Absolutely, last one, last one.”
After this, the Aussie influencer is subject to a frenzy of apparent fans bombarding him with selfie requests with one girl being so nervous that she begins shaking whilst posing next to him.
He even answers a question about what it’s like to be Ryan Reynolds as he replies to a fan: “Oh thank you, yeah, they’re my favourite thing to do, I love doing the movies.”
Ultimately, the fashion influencer meets dozens of fans and takes a remarkable 14 selfies with fellow passengers.
The video was uploaded by Shaun on Friday with the caption: “I tried to tell them! But they just thought I was saying no to a selfie. Turns out Ryan Reynolds is big in Taiwan.”
