SCOTS have been left fuming after a mum-of-three was allegedly forced to get off a bus due to an “entitled” Edinburgh Fringe performer taking up the pram space with a mountain of luggage.
The incident was witnessed by one anonymous Scot on the number 16 bus to Morningside in Edinburgh on Tuesday 1st after the Fringe performer had boarded with countless boxes and bags.
They claim that a mother, who was pushing a pram with two other children in tow, attempted to board the bus but was then told by the performer: “Sorry it’s full”.
The mother was then allegedly forced to get off and wait for the next bus, leaving the “entitled and unapologetic” performer aboard, blissfully occupying the wheelchair and pram space.
An image shows the performer standing in the space alongside huge flight cases, bags, water bottles and other unidentifiable props and luggage.
The mother can be seen in the aisle of the bus seemingly attempting to squeeze her family in, to no avail.
The two youngsters accompanying her appear to be looking quizzically at the man, who seems unbothered by the inconvenience he has caused as a queue for the bus forms.
The image was shared to social media by the witness yesterday, who said: “‘Sorry, it’s full.’ Spotted on the 16 up to Morningside, mother and kids had to get off. Gotta love the Fringe!”
The witness then added further context, saying: “For the record, they are the ones who said it was full not the driver.
“They took about five minutes hauling their s***e on holding the bus up, bumped into someone else boarding and didn’t apologise.
“The box had to be forced between the pole and seats, and they didn’t even give two f***s to anyone else whilst having an entitled, unapologetic demeanour throughout.
“Other performers take note: don’t be like these w***stains who have zero courtesy for the locals who live and work here.”
The post has since received dozens of likes and comments from outraged locals.
One user said: “Yeah this is horrendous.”
“F*k the locals right, but let on a performer with some PA gear who’s too cheap to hire a f*ing van. P**s that bring s*t like this onto a bus should be told to f**k off and get a taxi.”
Another added: “Oh my gosh, I feel hugely guilty if I take on a single medium suitcase. This is just crazy.”
A third replied: “Why did the driver let all that on the bus in the first place?
“I’ve seen people be refused when they’re carrying a large box or a small coffee table. This is worth a tweet to Lothian Buses or something.
“We’re not picking on this particular driver but an all-driver reminder based on this photo wouldn’t go amiss.”
Another commented: “Send this to the bus company, the driver should never have allowed this.”
A fifth wrote: “Stupid t***s should not be taking flight cases onto the bus. Won’t be secured correctly.
“About time Lothian Buses take the same stance as many other cities, if it’s not an official airport transport nothing bigger than a carry-on is allowed.”
The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the biggest arts festival in the world and attracts thousands of tourists and performers every year, making Edinburgh city centre extremely busy.
