A BIZARRE video shows the moment two pilfering punters pinch a pair of pricey putters from a swanky golf shop – by stuffing them down one of their trouser legs.
The dopey duo were captured by CCTV cameras at Ferndown Forest Golf Club in Bournemouth, Dorset on Sunday making the brazen theft from the club shop.
With putters at the Royal Winchester Shop ranging from £97 to a whopping £239, the two appear to be reluctant to part with cash, instead opting for their questionable heist.
The clip opens with the two men wandering around the shop under the guise of browsing its shelves and display racks.
One of the men then slyly picks up a set of putters from the stand and places them to one side, leaning them against the hat rack.
His accomplice then circles round and picks up the clubs in a stance similar to that of a soldier with a rifle before he helps himself to a five-finger discount.
The man, dressed in a navy jumper and checked shirt, then lifts his top and begins sliding the clubs into his trouser leg.
After a little wiggling and some help from his shoplifting sidekick, he successfully stores both clubs at his side, apparently blatantly unaware of the CCTV camera right above both of them.
The unidentified man then lifts his shirt and jumper over the stolen goods to try and conceal them, before the pair look around for a few more seconds.
Appearing shifty as they scan for any witnesses, the two then head for the exit, with one hilariously hobbling away thanks to the clubs stuck to the side of his leg.
Ferndown Forest Golf Club shared the footage to social media on Monday, writing: “The standard of crooks today has really gone downhill.
“Watch this from yesterday at our Royal Winchester Shop, just need a Benny Hill tune played over the top.
“I promise it is real and not a set up.”
The video has since received over 900 likes with more than 150 comments from users quick to crack jokes at the expense of the blissfully unaware crooks.
Chris Coulson joked: “With this footage, hopefully they’ll be behind pars soon enough.”
Andrew Chambers said: “Eddie Howe has enjoyed his grub pre-season.”
Alan Wood quipped: “Was that Harry Putter?”
Byron Thomas punned: “Did they have a getaway driver?”
Dan Harvey replied: “He needs to be putt behind bars.”
