“It’s got character” – Scots offered chance to live in £350k tower-like property in middle of suburb

SCOTS have been offered the chance to live in their very own £350,000 tower in the middle of a modern suburb just 30 minutes from the capital city’s centre.

The unique tower-like property boasts three bedrooms across its five storeys, and is snugly located in a cosy neighbourhood in the town of Kirkliston, Edinburgh.

The historical building – which dates back to the 1880s – was once a part of a local distillery, but stands alone now following the demolition of its fellow distillery buildings in the 1920s.

The exterior of the property shows a five-storey home clad in dark brick walls contrasting the whitewashed walls of the new buildings around it, and surrounded by a short wooden fence.

A fairytale-like balcony can be seen on the first floor, with iron fencing and an outdoor table set overlooking the neighbourhood that has been otherwise renovated with Cruden Homes.

At the ground floor of the property is a private garden, decked with mature plants and shrubs as well as a private lawn.

There is also outdoor furniture and a cosy fire pit perfect for any warm summer evening.

The interior of the ground floor shows a family room with large airy windows and an office space with an unmatched view of the secluded garden.

Spiralling stairs can be spotted offering ascension to the upper floors of the property, with a family room on the first floor sporting spacious windows and bi-folding doors.

The doors lead to the south-facing balcony which looks over across the garden and onto the neighbouring houses.

On the second floor are two double bedrooms and a shower room, paired with a two-piece white suite.

At the very top floor of the house is a master bedroom, comprising three large windows, a double wardrobe and a three piece white suite with a bath and shower.

The property was placed on the market by estate agents Neilsons and is currently selling for £350,000.

One househunter spotted the property yesterday, sharing it on social media with the caption: “If you don’t want to fit in with your surroundings this is perfect”.

Several users were quick to share their thoughts on the unique build, commending its price and character.

One person wrote: “Honestly, for that price, I’d buy it. It’s like a 30 minute drive into Edinburgh.

“it’s got character, the interior’s not terrible.”

Another said: “Amazingly bright and airy – but when you’ve left your phone downstairs. Oh, and how thick are the walls in the floorplan!”

A third commented: “Perfect for throwing shade on your neighbours.”

Another joked: “I’d only have it if I could dig a moat.”

A fifth wrote: “This is just along from where I stay and I love this building. Always been fascinated by it, great to see what it’s like inside.”
