Following a £600,000 investment, Dumfries Dental Clinic & Implant Centre has moved from 27 Castle Street to its new home 100 metres away at 195 High Street. This relocation and investment by Scottish Dental Care will enable the clinic to more than double its patient capacity, increasing treatment rooms from 4 to 6 and building on the already strong 1200 NHS patient list alongside its substantial private and dental plan patient numbers.
The Clinic will now offer the latest technology including an iTero scanner which is specifically designed for highly sought after Invisalign treatments, as well as a CBCT scanner to capture precise 3D imagery of the mouth as an alternative to traditional dental moulds – a procedure which had previously left patients travelling to Edinburgh or Glasgow to access.
The clinic is set to grow its NHS list whilst also bringing innovative cosmetic dentistry under its Advanced Dentistry brand to this part of Scotland for the first time.
Dr Philip Friel, the founder and practicing Clinical expert at Scottish Dental Care who has personally overseen the transformation of this new practice said ‘’The opportunity to bring stylish, welcoming and modern dental facilities to Dumfries and Galloway has been a top priority for the company.
He went on to say ‘’Delivering the additional new services to this vibrant area is exciting for Scottish Dental Care, as we continue to progress with our mission of providing best in class dental solutions throughout Scotland and beyond. We recognise the life changing effects of great dental care and feel proud to be bringing this to an area of Scotland that has previously been underserved when compared to the larger cities. We are fully committed to the area and the continued delivery of both NHS and private dentistry.’’
Lynn Hood, newly appointed Chief Executive of Scottish Dental Care commented, ‘’Phil’s vision for dentistry provision is refreshing! The recognition that dental services are considered from the patient perspective, where comfort, experience and a range of dental services are offered in a safe and modern environment. These are just some of the reasons why Phil has amassed such a following for his dental expertise throughout the 20 strong portfolio of clinics we already have throughout Scotland.’’
The team at Dumfries Dental Clinic & Implant Centre will remain the same, and Scottish Dental Care are positive that new dentists will want to join and enjoy delivering dental expertise in these new modern facilities. Patients can look forward to the introduction of bespoke private dental plans – tailored to the individual’s needs.
Glasgow-headquartered Scottish Dental Care has established itself as a major player in Scotland’s dental sector, growing to 20 practices based throughout the country, from Inverness to Dumfries.
Christopher Friel established the business in 2016 with his brother and Director of Dentistry Director Philip Friel, one of Scotland’s most highly regarded implantologists and cosmetic dentists.
The exclusively Scottish dental group consists of 80 dentists and employs more than 200 team members, serving around 200,000 patients. Its practices provide a broad mix of treatments with most offering NHS services alongside private care.
Its Advanced Dentistry brand is a subdivision of Scottish Dental Care, with two clinics in Glasgow and Castle House Dental Clinic in Inverness, providing state-of-the-art cosmetic dentistry, teeth straightening, dental implants and facial aesthetics.
