Hilarious video shows dad-to-be engrossed in Liverpool game – whilst partner is in labour

A HILARIOUS video shows a dad-to-be engrossed in a Liverpool game sitting alongside his partner – who is in labour.

Amber Tilley filmed her boyfriend Brad Williams sitting beside her hospital bed watching his beloved side in the Merseyside derby against local rivals Everton – just hours before their son Hudson was born.

The 24-year-old revealed that she and Brad, 26, had joked that she would end up in labour right when Liverpool took to the pitch and was astounded when it actually happened.

Video shows Amber laid in her hospital room at Queens Hospital in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire as she casts a quizzical glance off-screen.

She then flips the camera around to reveal Brad perched at the end of her bed, hilariously transfixed by the fixture showing on his iPad, which is propped up on a table in front of them.

An anxious-looking Brad holds a gas and air pump in his mouth as the match – which ended in a 0-0 draw at Everton’s Goodison Park – plays out on-screen.

The on-screen text reads: “When I joked about going into Labour whilst his football team were playing the entire pregnancy and I actually did so this was our setup.”

Amber shared the video to social media on Thursday with the caption: “Taking football isn’t just football to a new level.”

The clip has since received over 300,000 likes and more than 1,300 comments from users left in stitches by the duo’s setup.

One user wrote: “And on the gas and air. Must be the final.”

Another commented: “Some of these comments. My partner was the same, labour can be long and a waiting game. I have an amazing partner and he’s such a good dad too.”

A third wrote: “You gotta keep them busy, my man was trying to show me the pattern on the bottom of his shoe…”

Another said: “I don’t see anything wrong if they’re both fine and if he is there for his wife when it becomes serious. No problem just chilling until the baby wants out.”

Amber replied: “Exactly what happened, when I needed him he was doing everything I needed and more, right here we were just chill.”

One user asked: “Didn’t you feel mad?”

Amber again explained: “Can’t be mad when I’m the one who set it up for him!

“I was making TikToks, we are super chill and when the time came to actually scream and push he was right by my side holding my hair back, hand, had the fan in front of me, everything I needed, it wasn’t that deep.”

Speaking today Amber said: “During the entire of my pregnancy I always joked about going into labour whilst his football team was playing as he’s a massive football fan and he’d say well you best not and we’d laugh about it.

“Of course it’s our luck that’s exactly what happened.

“I had to be induced due to a horrible pregnancy and with me being induced on the Friday we knew that Liverpool were playing the Saturday and I laughed that I’d still be in hospital waiting to give birth whilst they were playing.

“Football wasn’t on his mind for ages as I was called to the delivery room at around 8/9am but as time went he realised the match was going to take place and our baby was not here yet.

“Then it was time for the match he was going to watch it on his phone but I gave him my iPad because I had the main telly and was making TikToks.

“For people who haven’t been into labour or a delivery room I don’t think they understand it’s not like the movies.

“You don’t just go into labour and pop out your child, I was induced around 8/9am Friday 2 September and didn’t give birth until 3:22pm Saturday the 3rd.

“The funny part is he only managed to watch around ten or so minutes of the game as my contractions started and I was kicking the table and screaming on gas and air.

“As soon as he knew I needed him and our son was on his way he turned football off and was by my side the entire time, I’m a pretty chilled girl and I also had my mum in the room with me.

“During the ten or so minutes Brad watched the game he still spoke to me, rubbed my feet and made sure I was okay but I was perfectly fine watching storage hunters on telly with my mum and just waiting.

“Everyone is different on how they are during labour but this is us.”
