HOUSE-HUNTERS have been left shocked by the state of a house that went on the market which has the words ‘help’ scratched into one of the walls.
The two-bedroom end-terraced home in Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire was listed with a low guide price of £37,500 due to the state it was left in.
Images show no ceiling or flooring in the living room which houses a grubby-looking sofa and Everlast punch bag right in the centre of the room.
On one of the walls the word ‘help’ has been scratched into the remnants of wallpaper in thick bold letters.
Above an exposed brickwork fireplace sits a painting.
The room then leads onto the kitchen which is in need of a little TLC and a thorough clean.
The bare bathroom features just a toilet and sink as the bath has been ripped out – leaving a huge gap to fill.
One of the bedrooms upstairs features a makeshift curtain made up of a blanket held up by clothing pegs against the window.
Social media users were taken aback by the property after finding it ‘grim’.
One person said: “That kitchen doesn’t look too bad, what the heck happened between there and the front room.”
Another wrote: “Puts the grim in Grimsby.”
A third added: “Perfect for the next Rocky inspired ‘roughing it’ training camp for AJ [Anthony Joshua].”
While another social media user commented: “What the hell is that bench on two brick pillars in the back garden?”
Despite the reaction, the house has recently sold subject to conditions, however it is unknown what price it went for.
Estate agents Pygott and Crone describe it as: “The property would make an ideal investment or project for anyone who is of a practical persuasion.
“Upon entry you are greeted by an entrance hallway that leads through to the dining room, this dining room has an adjoining lounge to the front of the property and kitchen to the rear.
“Upstairs are the two bedrooms and family bathroom, the main bathroom is equipped with a shower.
“There is a garden to the rear of the property and it features double glazing and a gas central heating system.
“Internal viewings are recommended to see the potential this property has to offer.”
The average house price in Grimsby was £142,493 over the last year according to property site Rightmove.
