A SHOCKING video shows a DPD driver urinating in the entrance to a resident’s home.
Mark Gibson was left furious after spotting the courier relieving himself next to the gate outside his home in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear last week (7 NOV).
CCTV footage shows the DPD delivery driver walking towards 36-year-old Mark’s gate before looking around.
He then unbuckles his trousers and begins urinating against the wall while a woman walks past with her buggy.
After disappearing out of focus for several seconds, the driver re-emerges and is shown buckling his belt and trousers back up before sauntering away.
Bus driver Mark shared the footage on Twitter later on that day alongside an image of a puddle which was left behind after the driver left.
Tagging the delivery company in, he wrote: “Seen (sic) as I cannot find an email address to complain to, can you explain why your employees think it’s acceptable to urinate in the entrance to my home?”
Speaking today (MON), Mark said: “The person can be seen on the building’s exterior cameras walking towards the entrance, he does not actually make a delivery at my address but deliberately uses the entranceway to urinate.
“He can be seen on the CCTV in the entrance undoing and redoing his trousers up, a mother and child walk past just meters away from where he is urinating.
“You can clearly make out that it’s a DPD uniform he’s wearing, DPD have so far said that they had no van’s operating in the area at the time that they can see via their GPS so the employee may have been off duty at the time.
“My argument with DPD is that no matter whether he’s on or off duty he is bringing their company in to disrepute as he is still wearing their uniform.
“I felt disgust and anger mainly, another resident of the apartments had brought it to my attention when they saw the puddle.
“I had tried several ways to contact DPD but their chat facilities all wanted parcel numbers to be provided before I could speak to anyone.”
He added: “In the current climate I don’t want to see anyone losing jobs even through disgusting acts like this, however the person responsible has to be told that doing this on a residential property is unacceptable.
“There are always places to go if he’s desperate. Park Lane Interchange is only a five minute walk away and has public toilets on site for a start.”
A spokesperson for DPD today (MON) said: “We were appalled by the images and, as a result, launched an immediate and full-scale investigation.
“All we can confirm at the moment is that we had no operatives working in the area at that time and the investigation has been passed to our security team.”
