HEARTS have apologised to Fiorentina and made it clear there was no foul play involved over the lack of hot showers at Tynecastle.
A Fiorentina source was quoted in the Italian media saying that the reason the away dressing room was left in such a mess was because Viola staff were too busy transporting the players’ belongings so they could wash back at their hotel.
That was after a video showing litter discarded all over the floor in the dressing room went viral.
However, it is understood that the Hearts players were also affected by a hot water issue in the main stand.
The problem only came to light as the players attempted to shower after Fiorentina beat Hearts 3-0 in last Thursday’s Europa Conference League Group A clash.
It is believed that a Hearts official immediately apologised to the Serie A outfit regarding the problem.
Hearts make the trip to Florence for the return game on Thursday looking to overturn a one point gap on their rivals in second place.
