IN EDINBURGH Fringe news, beloved ventriloquist Nina Conti returns to the Festival this year to perform her latest hit.
The Dating Show comes to the capital this month before moving to London’s West End next March.
A unique show which promises to crack us up with the often puzzling world of 21st-century courtship.
The British performer is also set to amuse the festival with Comedy Sassafras.
Along with Shenoah Allen, her partner in crime and their alter egos, Richard and Greta, they will introduce us to their delightfully dirty world with nightly special guests.
The two-decade-long artist has won multiple awards since she plunged into fame with her 2002’s BBC New Comedy Award win. Recently, she was a finalist in NBC’s The World’s Best.
In 2016, her show In Your Face was a London’s West End & New York’s off-Broadway sell-out.
Also, since 2018, her YouTube Series In Therapy has grown to more than 1.5m viewers.
She is a well-known artist across British TV, with appearances on popular shows like Live at the Apollo and QI.
She has also enjoyed two successful films with BBC4. Alongside her smutty sidekick Monk, she presented ‘Make Me Happy: A Monkey’s Search for Happiness, where they explore the world of the new age and alternative therapies.
In A Ventriloquists Story: Her Masters Voice, she took her mentor, Ken Campbell’s, puppets on an expedition across Vent Have.
Conti is no stranger to festivals. She has performed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Montreal Comedy Festival.
“I’m so thrilled to be going back to Edinburgh after all this time, it’ll feel like a magic bullet tonic after these last couple of years”, Nina said.
Sassafras will also be ready to entertain you from the 5th of August at the Pleasance Courtyard.
