ICONIC director Danny Boyle was in attendance at the global premiere of his new series, Pistol, in London last night.
The 65-year-old joined the cast of the Disney+ Original Series yesterday evening at the Odeon Luxe in London’s Leicester Square.
Danny, most famous for directing Scottish cult classic Trainspotting, was joined by key cast including Maisie Williams, Anson Boon, Louis Partridge, Jacob Slater and Talulah Riley.
Pistol is a six-episode limited series about the Sex Pistols — with a profound focus on founding member and guitarist, Steve Jones.
Steve joined Danny and the show’s creatives on the night as well, alongside his former bandmate Paul Cook.
The first two episodes were screened at the event, ahead of the release of all six episodes on Disney+ on Tuesday 31st May.
Based on Steve Jones’ memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol, Disney described hte series as “the story of a band of spotty, noisy, working-class kids with no future, who shook the boring, corrupt Establishment to its core, threatened to bring down the government and changed music and culture forever.”
Famous for directing Trainspotting, which was ranked by the British Film Institute as the 10th greatest British film of the 20th century, Danny Boyle has also gained recognition for his direction of Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours and Yesterday.
