Stacks of pancakes and £10k donation to charity from Scots business

A SCOTS business has fed a group of young carers and donated £10,000 to charity in the name of Pancake Day.

Pancake house, Stack and Still, treated 16 young people from West Lothian Young Carers to pancakes as part of its annual charity fundraising event in partnership with Forth Cash for Kids.

West Lothian Carers is a beneficiary group supported by Forth Cash for Kids, which aims to provide support and respite to West Lothian’s unpaid carers.

Stack and Still, which has six locations across Scotland, has been a partner of Forth Cash for Kids since 2019.

On top of the pancakes and 12 million combinations of toppings, Stack and Still is aiming to raise a total of £50,000 for Cash for Kids on Pancake Tuesday.

To kickstart the fundraiser, Stack and Still Founder and CEO Paul Reynolds is gifting £10,000 to Cash for Kids.

In addition, all profits from the sale of pancakes on the day from all six Stack and Still restaurants, will be donated to the charity.

Paul said: “It’s important to us as a business to be involved and support our community however, and wherever, we can.

“Cash for Kids are renowned for the work they do far and wide across Edinburgh and the Lothians, so we’re pleased to be a part of their mission.

“It was brilliant seeing everyone get together with platefuls of pancakes, laughing and enjoying themselves.

“We encourage pancake fans across the region to head along to one of our restaurants on 1st March to celebrate Pancake Day while making a difference to the lives of young people and families throughout the community.”

Chantal Carr, Senior Fundraising Executive at Forth Cash for Kids, said: “We are so grateful to Stack and Still for their support of Radio Forth Cash for Kids.

“This year the demand for our support is higher than ever and we couldn’t provide our grants without the support of companies like Stack and Still.

“The West Lothian Carers had a brilliant time and it’s great to see them relaxing and having some fun.”
