Rangers fans mock anniversary polo comparing it to “WWE Smackdown referee” uniform

RANGERS fans have mocked their football club’s anniversary polo – comparing it to a “WWE Smackdown refereeuniform.

The Glasgow club released their 150 year anniversary range with sports brand Castore featuring the polo shirt which has been slashed from £50 down to £30.

But shoppers were quick to liken the apparel to those worn by referees in the WWE’s Smackdown.

The Rangers shop website describes the questionable polo shirt as a “comfortable and stylish long sleeve polo”.

The three button polo with a fold over collar and pinstripe pattern is boasted to be “the perfect addition to any fan’s wardrobe”.

Bemused Rangers fan @dave_n84 shared a screenshot of the shirt yesterday, writing: “£32 to look like a WWE Smackdown referee.”

The post has received over 1,100 likes and dozens of comments in agreement about the resemblance.

MichaelG75 said: “That’s Halloween sorted.”

Robertc2022 said: “When’s the wrestling mate?”

@dave_n84 said: “Not a chance I’m buying that.”

@d____1872 said: “Incredible patter.”

Forefather2003 joked: “You will go on my first whistle.”

Since Castore gained the lucrative deal a year-and-a-half ago, the Rangers kit manufacturer has come under fire for its quality and customer service from Rangers fans.

James Bisgrove, Castore Commercial and Marketing Director addressed controversy at the club AGM in November.

He said: “I think it hasn’t been perfect, particularly at the beginning when we came out of Covid and there were certain issues with customer service.

“But there has been fantastic progress on that. And I’m very positive and confident about the future retail and relationship with Castore.”
