The £230 straight fit denims, now reduced to the bargain price of £80 on Asos, have left shoppers confused because they just look like they have been turned inside out.
Reddit users have mocked Calvin Klein after realising the design means the pockets would be on the outside of the jeans.
Images on the Asos website show a model with his hands in the pockets while belt loops have been added to the outside of the item.
Dark denim appears only on the top top of the denims while the rest of the jeans are a light wash to give the appearance of the inside of a pair of jeans or trousers.
Despite the 65% price drop, social media users are still shocked by the £80 price tag on the bizarre jeans.
The jeans were shared on Reddit yesterday by a user with the caption: “Browsing Asos and came across this.
“Has anybody seen anyone wearing these out in the wild in the UK?”
The post has gained over 600 likes and almost 150 comments from perplexed social media users.
One person said: “Mate, what the f**k are those?!
“Hahahaha. Anyone that owns these please show yourself, I have so many questions.”
“I thought Back to the Future were taking the p**s when they said people would be wearing their trousers inside out.”
Another replied: “I give up with Asos, their stuff is just nasty.”
A third social media user joked: “It’s like they’re trying to flog jeans which had defects on the proper side.”
A fourth quipped: “Does my three-year-old count? He loves this ‘trend’.”
Another added: “Maybe it’s been said already, but to achieve this look on a budget you can just buy an ordinary pair of jeans and wear them inside out.”
And one social media user said: “I’ve left the house like this once.
“Hungover (probably still drunk), kept the blinds closed because I couldn’t deal with the sunlight, and was very late for a lecture.”
The jeans are listed on Asos as: “Calvin Klein Jeans Established 1978 inside out straight fit jeans” and appear to be popular sellers, with only a few pairs left in stock.
The trousers gained comparison to those featured in 1989 cult classic film Back to the Future Part II.
In the movie, Dr Emmett Brown and Marty McFly time travel from the 80s to the year 2015.
In one segment, Marty’s son, Marty McFly Jr can be seen sporting his jeans inside out, which “Doc” tells Marty has become a fashion statement of the kids of the future.
