Matt Blakemore was at the Backyard Bar in Liverpool for a night out with friends on Friday when he decided to order the bizarrely named drink.
The 31-year-old opted for a cocktail named the “Hi-diddly-ho-neighbourino” from the bar’s new winter-themed menu.
The finance worker was left in stitches when the glass arrived with an amazingly detailed imprint of The Simpsons’ character Ned Flanders on top.
The Ned-themed cocktail consists of Beefeater gin, apricot, Creme de Mure, blackberry, pomegranate, lemon and bitters.
Matt, from Liverpool, wasn’t sure what to expect when he ordered the cocktail, but was in tears of laughter when the finished product arrived.
One image shows what appears to be a wine glass filled with a dark red alcohol and topped with pink foam.
Emblazoned boldly on top of the foam is an imprint of Ned Flanders in a skin-tight ski suit.
The image of Ned in his ski suit is associated with the popular neighbor saying it makes him feel like he’s wearing “nothing at all”.
Matt shared the image of his drink to Twitter on Friday night, with the caption: “I’ve just ordered a cocktail called the ‘Hi-diddly-ho-neighbourino’ and this is what arrived, I’m screaming.”
The tweet has since gone viral with over 68,000 likes and 5,500 retweets from users in stitches over the hilarious boozy artwork.
@HelenGradwell replied: “I simply want to tell you this is one of the best things I’ve ever seen.”
@GracePOWER said: “This cocktail is doing nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all.”
@jackremmington – originally of X-Factor fame – replied saying: “Omg this is unreal.”
@chappers_jo wrote: “This is the only drink I want in my life henceforth.”
@rubyppower joked: “Stupid sexy cocktail.”
Speaking today, Matt said: “I haven’t been to Liverpool in years and I had the best night at Backyard.
“I think they have some kind of winter Apres Ski cocktail menu on the go at the moment – it was really fun!
“I was intrigued by the name because I love The Simpsons, and I knew it would be something to do with Ned but I was not expecting stupid sexy Flanders.
“It was so funny though, I would highly recommend it!”
Ned is famous for his heavily-religious, family-oriented lifestyle on the show, and his inclusion of his catchphrase ‘diddly’ at the end of words and in the middle of sentences.
Despite being a generally well-mannered, kind and helpful man, Ned is often despised by neighbour and main character Homer Simpson.
The image of Ned in his ski suit originates from episode 10 – “Little Big Mom” – from season 11 of the long-running animated show.
Whilst Homer is on a ski slope, Ned skids to a halt next to him, wearing a red and blue skin-tight ski suit, which Homer calls “a little revealing”.
Homer then attempts to traverse a tricky downhill portion of the slope, but finds his focus averted by the image of Ned in his ski suit in his mind.
This then leads to Homer’s infamous shout of: “Stupid, sexy Flanders!”
The Backyard Bar has a winter-themed “Apres Ski” menu ongoing throughout the entire season, complete with small chalets to sit in, and a range of relevant cocktails to choose from.
Based in Wolstenholme Square in Liverpool, the bar opened in April of this year, and has previously gained attention for serving slushies in micro wheelie-bins.
