“Cheerful and sincere” dad dies just two days after finding out back pain was cancer

A “CHEERFUL and sincere” dad passed away just two days after finding out his back pain was cancer.

Daniils Lebedevs died on Saturday after being diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer last Thursday.

The 38-year-old, who was expecting his second child with wife Sheker, had no suspicion that the pain in his back was anything sinister.

The family on a day out before the tragedy
The family enjoy a day out before the tragic diagnosis.

However, last week he was rushed to hospital after losing consciousness and was told the devastating news that he has cancer which had spread across his body.

Daniils, who was from Latvia but was living in London with his family, passed away just two days later.

A GoFundMe page has since been set up by Daniils friend, Vladimir Coltuc, to raise money for the family.

The fundraiser has raised over £24,000 in the space of just two days.

Vladimir, from Bracknell, Berkshire, wrote: “Today on 16th of October we lost our dearest friend, brother, son, husband and father – Daniils Lebedevs.

“We remember him as a cheerful, people-loving, sincere, God-fearing young man that inspired faith, and put a smile on the face of anyone he encountered.

“Our hearts are shocked and broken over this unexpected and untimely loss.

The family enjoy a day out together.

“Just over a week ago there was no suspicion of any serious illness as Daniils complained with back pain.

“But when he suddenly lost his consciousness and got to the hospital, the doctors started suspecting something more sinister.

“Just this last Thursday they diagnosed cancer (adenocarcinoma) so advanced that it had metastasized across many parts of Danni’s body. Just two days later, he is no longer with us.

“While nothing can compensate for the devastating loss, Daniil’s family is in urgent need of our help! If you would like to support the family, please consider this fund-raiser.

“His eight-month pregnant wife and five-year-old daughter were left without income and without a bread-winner. It’s a burden too big for any one to carry, but together we can alleviate some of the financial pressures that Sheker will be facing in the weeks and years to come.”

He continued: “There is no amount too little or too big; every gift of love is greatly appreciated and much needed! We can make a difference.

“All funds will go directly to Daniil’s wife as she is coping with the financial implications of her loss. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and support.

“Lovingly, Daniil’s friends.”

The page was set up by friends in tribute to the loving dad.

Adenocarcinoma is a type of cancer that develops in the glands that line your organs.

Common forms of adenocarcinoma include breast, stomach, prostate, lung, pancreatic and colorectal cancers.

A sub-type of carcinoma – the most common form of cancer – adenocarcinoma can spread to other parts of your body.

Adenocarcinoma can be successfully treated in many cases – survival rates vary depending on the type of cancer, its location and stage.

Adenocarcinoma of the lung (a type of non-small cell lung cancer) is one of the more aggressive variants.

Even early diagnosis offers only a 61% chance of survival five years later.

That survival rate plummets to only 6% if the cancer has metastasized to distant organs by the time of diagnosis.
