A SCOTS couple are expecting a baby just six months after meeting on Facebook Marketplace over a super king size bed listing.
Kyla Speirs, 25, met Gary MacDonald, 27, in February this year after he responded to her advert selling a super king bed frame with mattress.
Air stewardess Kyla accepted Gary’s offer of £150 for the bed and he agreed to collect the item shortly after.
As soon as the pair met, Kyla said it was “love at first sight” and she fancied the Sky engineer straight away but didn’t think she would hear from him again.
But weeks later Gary plucked up the courage to get back in touch with Kyla after feeling the same and the pair were a couple by April.
Now the Scots couple, from Bo’ness, Falkirk, have announced they are expecting a baby in January 2022.
Kyla shared a photograph of her original Marketplace ad alongside her baby scan yesterday on Twitter, writing “How it started v how it’s going. Love at first sight I swear.”
The tweet has since over 2,000 likes and comments from well-wishers on the social media site.

@benfairburn1 joked: “So you let him have a test drive of the bed then?”
@shortbred28 said: “So you still didn’t get rid of the bed?”
While: @MonaghanKenneth added: “You never ever had any intention of selling the bed did you? Great story for your kid.”
@bigrab1967 said: “That escalated eh…Marketplace, the new Tinder.”
Speaking today mum-to-be Kyla said: “I was selling my house and selling all my furniture and he came to buy a bed, we just got talking while he was there and chatted for ages then he left.
“I never thought I’d see or hear from him again. Then a while after we started messaging.
“He messaged me first and we fancied each other as soon as I opened the door. We have only been together since April.
“We don’t have the bed anymore. He literally picked it up, chatted for a bit then a while later we started messaging.
“I didn’t realise the post was going to be so popular, my phones honestly did not stop buzzing.
“I’ve had to turn my notifications off. It’s funny cause it looks so much worse than what everyone thinks. We never met again for weeks and weeks after it.”
