A SCOTS couple have chosen their football team clash as a theme for their wedding cake – complete with Hibernian and Celtic badges on top of the cake.
Iain Sullivan, 41 and Chantelle Sullivan, 25 got married over the weekend and chose their respective football teams as the design for the cake.
The unique wedding cake consists of two layers both unique in their design with the first looking more traditional, but with the twist of toy soldiers peppered around it.
Posting about the cake on Sunday, Iain said: ” Massive thank you to Laura Louise Conway on such an outstanding job on our wedding cake.
“No design was too complex as our cake wasn’t traditional.
“Would highly recommend this woman to anyone who was looking for high quality delicious cakes.”
Pictures show the cake which has two unique layers to it, one being a more traditional design and the other showing the unique football design.
The bottom layer shows blue and white flowers blooming across the front of the cake to the center where blue roses sit on top of white icing.
Several small toy soldiers can also be seen scattered across the front of the cake with some sitting on top too.
Four pillars hold up the second layer which shows the Celtic and Hibernian FC football logos with a football pitch on top.
An icing version of Chantelle and her husband Iain can be seen on the pitch with the bride set to take a penalty against her husband who is on his knees between the goal posts.
The couple from Kincardine, Fife got engaged on May 13, 2019 and have waited nearly two years to tie the knot.
Speaking today Iain said: “It was amazing, we had a very small intimate wedding ceremony in Alloa, Clackmannanshire.
“We wanted something that was different, I support Celtic and my wife supports Hibs.
“We watch the games together and we are competitive in a lot of things.”
The newlywed continued: “We had a garden party for our reception with a hot tub and a disco dome. Guests absolutely loved the cake as it was completely different.
“Nothing about our wedding was traditional, we wanted things to show us a as couple so we made things fun and quirky as it’s in our personalities.
“There were small Army soldiers placed around the cake, there weren’t wedding cars or anything like that.
“We got taxis. We haven’t had the easiest journey to get to where we are today with having an age gap relationship.”
