A PHOTOGRAPHER has captured an incredible image of a dragon shaped cloud floating over a Scottish castle.

Jed Reading snapped the stunning cloud formation directly above Castle Stalker in Appin, Argyll on Sunday and insists it hasn’t been doctored.

Reading, who specialises in landscape photography, said he noticed the amazing shape whilst advising tourists about areas to visit nearby.

The incredible snap shows a dragon shaped cloud floating directly above the castle as if it is gliding through the sky.

Puffs of cloud resemble the shape of a dragon’s wings and the long neck and nose which looks like the face of the mythical creature.

Reading, from Cumbria, shared his images on Facebook on Monday – prompting amazed viewers to suggest the formation looks like either a dragon or the Loch Ness Monster.

Reading captioned his post: “Think I may have seen a dragon above Castle Stalker?”

Speaking today, Reading said: “I had arrived at Castle Stalker and was talking to a couple from Yorkshire who were touring the area.

“I was letting them know of some locations with great photo opportunities.

“I suddenly halted my advice and said ‘excuse me but I’ve got to stop there, I can see a dragon over the castle and I must take a photo!’

“They looked at me as if I was crazy.

“I didn’t think I would have time to grab my DSLR out of my bag so I just grabbed the shot quickly with my mobile phone.

“A lot of people are also seeing a dragon but then there are some comments saying it looks like Usain Bolt, David Beckham, Superman and of course Nessie!”

When asked if the image had been doctored at all, Reading added: “The only editing I did to it was cropping the image and darkening it slightly!”

Castle Stalker is set on a tidal islet on Loch Laich and has featured in the films Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Highlander: Endgame.
