The programme will be packed with a range of events.

The charity Aye Write is produced by Glasgow Life and delivers culture and sport in the city.

Councillor David McDonald, chair of Glasgow Life, said: “The Wee Write schools programme is a much-loved event for pupils across the city. Although there won’t be any physical trips to the majestic Mitchell Library this year, I’m delighted that every single pupil in every single school in Glasgow will be able to participate in the wonderful array of adventures that are lined up.”

The Wee Write Schools Programme will include art workshops with Bookbug Picture Book Prize winner Ross Collins and an illustration event by award winning former children’s laureate Chris Riddell.

There will also be a talk from TV star Konnie Huq who will speak about how children can look after the environment, which will include tips on how to throw a ‘save the planet’ party.

The two-week event will be free for all Glasgow City Council schools and nurseries and made more widely available across the UK.
